About The Event
Global Trekker Trish Perkins, with lots of photographs from around the world, will share her unique business model – a break-even social enterprise dedicated to working shoulder-to-shoulder with friends and colleagues to accomplish change wherever they are – Austin or Addis Ababa, Paris, or Phnom Penh.
Trish has been a newspaper reporter, a high school teacher, a free-lance writer and a receptionist in a graphics design company. She’s been around the world four times, the first time for 18 months starting in 1978. She’s crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a sailboat, spent the night in Machu Picchu, Peru, and worked with a circus in Cambodia.
In 2001, she went back to university to “learn about technology,” and she has used what she learned to start Worldstouch, an innovative business and personalized retirement plan. Salesforce, the company Trish works with, has three times honored her work with the title “Most Valuable Partner.”
Trish will share her personal and professional journey, showcasing some of the inspiring nonprofits she has been privileged to serve.
